Run for the board
Officers serve two-year terms. Seats are decided at the Biennial conference, which meets in odd-numbered years. The rules below come straight from the bylaws (Article 4).

Deaf, hard-of-hearing, late-deafened, or deaf-blind
Vice president
A full-time Florida resident for 6 months or more
Secretary
A member in good standing for the 2 years before the election
Treasurer
Has attended at least one State Conference
Board Member / Affiliate Representative
Willing to serve a 2-year term (no more than two consecutive terms)
FAD Editor / Social Media Chair
Willing to attend mandatory board training
